TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Charging by the hour I charge the following fees: $65 for Calgary and surrounding area, $70 for Edmonton and surrounding area, $70 for Central & Southern Alberta, $80 in Northern Alberta. Ontario fees are $80 per hour.
• $70 per hour for evening and overnight shifts in Calgary and Southern Alberta. Edmonton and Northern Alberta rates are $80 per hour.
• Extra hours worked on an agreed schedule will be $10 per hour on top of the regular fee. On emergency shifts will be $15 per hour.
• In general practices I prefer not to take afterhour calls. If this is absolutely necessary, I will charge $90 per call ending up in exam before midnight and $110 after midnight, or 40% of collected fees, whichever is higher.
• An availability fee of $140 for evening and $280 for full day will be charged when on call. This fee covers my commitment to being available to clients after hours.
• Mileage will be 0.80 cents/km if travelling by car out of town. This rate is subject to the fluctuation in fuel prices and may change without notice.
• GST will be charged.
• Minimum amount of working hours per day is 8 during weekdays and 5 on Saturdays.
• Accomodation and travel expenses will be covered by the clinic.
• I carry my own liability and long-term disability insurance.Cancellation policy: 4 weeks prior to the scheduled date. If cancellation is done less than 4 weeks, 50% of the expected fees will be charged (40 hrs per week or 45 hrs with Saturday included). If a plane or bus ticket was already purchased, it will be refunded in full. On the other hand, if I cancel a locum within the same time frame I am responsible to paying the clinic half the expected fees collected if a replacement is not found. Only Exception is personal or family medical emergency.
• I do not do orthopedic surgery, declaw cats, ear crops, debarking surgery, thoracic surgery and/or any kind of large animal work. I don't see exotics, only rabbits and ferrets on a very basic basis.
• No AHT no surgeries.
